The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin (NRF) will hold three monarch-specific trainings in Wisconsin to unify and increase the number of monarch citizen scientists in the state. Those who participate in the trainings will provide long-term, ongoing support to monarch monitoring in order to minimze the gaps in Wisconsin monarch data. These trainings will focus on the following critical monarch projects: the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project; Project Monarch Health; and Journey North, as well as information on monarch ecology and habitat conservation. These citizen science programs provide critical data to help conservationists better understand the distribution and abundance of breeding monarchs, to help inform conservation efforts in Wisconsin and across the country.
